Our History
Kinderhook Animal Hospital has been a trusted veterinary clinic in Kinderhook, NY for more than five decades. Founded in 1969 by Dr. Donald Fox, the hospital was established to provide dependable veterinary care for dogs and cats in the local community.
In 1989, the practice was purchased by Dr. Chris Southard, who continued to grow Kinderhook Animal Hospital while maintaining a strong emphasis on personalized care and long-term client relationships. Many families have relied on the hospital for the care of multiple generations of pets, reflecting the clinic’s deep roots in the community.
In 2025, ownership passed to Dr. Kate Brust, ushering in a new chapter for the hospital. Dr. Kate is committed to honoring the clinic’s long-standing tradition while continuing its emphasis on high-quality veterinary medicine and thoughtful, individualized care. Located on Route 9 along the scenic Kinderhook Creek, Kinderhook Animal Hospital remains dedicated to serving families and their pets with respect, compassion, and clinical excellence.
